Updated

This is a log of changes a player can see. Each date is the day that change shipped. It is not a list of every commit, and it does not include internal notes. The current board numbers are on the board sheet. The current cards are on the card list. Who operates the site is on About.

— Board sheet, card list, and this log

The board sheet lists all forty spaces in lap order and the rent for every house level. Those figures are the same numbers a match uses for prices and rent. The card list prints every Fortune card and every Town Fund card.

The guides page says which of the reading pages to open before a first match, which to open when a rent or a card is in dispute, and which ones are advice rather than rules. This page is the change log for things a player can see.

— Guides on their own pages

How to play, the rules quick reference, strategy, building, trading, cash, a sample match, the FAQ, and the notes on hosting were published as their own pages. The wording is in the HTML of each page.

Google's ad script loads on those reading pages and not on the home screen or inside a room. The site does not place ad units, and it does not turn on auto ads.

— Public address, contact mailbox, and no pop-up ads

The public site is https://www.rentopia.app. The contact address is hello@rentopia.app. The guide pages are prerendered, so their text is in the HTML response rather than waiting on a script.

Pop-up ads, between-game ads, and rewarded ads are not part of the game. Banner areas on the home screen and in a room stay empty and do not request an ad.

Room cleanup from that day, still in effect: a lobby where only the host is waiting is deleted after about 30 minutes. A lobby other people have joined is deleted after 6 hours. A finished match is deleted 24 hours after it ends.

— The public name

The game's public name is Rentopia. The live board uses Rentopia's own streets, from Old Town through Skyline, with Fortune, Town Fund, and Lockup. Privacy and terms pages were added the same day. Page views are counted with cookieless Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use a cookie and does not read your display name.

— Sound, card text, and matches that end when nobody plays

A match can play a short sound for dice, money, and cards. Mute and volume stay on this device. The sound switch is not an account setting.

When you draw a card, the card's text stays on screen. It is not only a line in the log.

A match with no moves for 20 minutes ends, and its timers stop. A match also ends 3 hours after it started. That keeps an abandoned room from running on.

— Private rooms you can finish

The first playable version was a private room for 2 to 8 players: a 3D board, auctions when someone declines a purchase, trades, and the original card wording. If several players want the last houses at the same time, those buildings are auctioned instead of being handed out in silence.

House rules a host already started are not rewritten when this page changes. A match keeps the lobby settings it started with. Questions about a room go to hello@rentopia.app while you still have the room code. Finished matches are deleted 24 hours after they end.
